With just one month to go until its release, excitement is reaching a fever pitch. Stellar Crown marks the seventh main expansion of the Scarlet & Violet Series and continues the thrilling journey through the Gen IX video game DLC. This time, players and collectors alike will find themselves chasing after the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos and the Stellar-type Tera Pokémon that emerge in its wake.
When Will Stellar Crown Release?
Circle September 8, 2024, on your calendars because that’s when the Stellar Crown expansion will officially hit shelves at The POP Shop! This is an entire week before big box stores. But, the adventure begins even earlier, with a Prerelease event kicking off on September 1, 2024 [click for more info]. At the prerelease events, you’ll be able to grab a Build and Battle Box, which includes a 40-card preconstructed deck and four booster packs to give you a head start on your Stellar Crown collection. Play in our event or take the kit home and have your own stellar event.
Once the full set is out, you can look forward to a treasure trove of Pokémon TCG sealed products, including Booster Boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes, Pack Blisters, and more—all packed with the incredible new cards from Stellar Crown.
What Pokémon Are in Stellar Crown?
While the complete set list remains a closely guarded secret, the official announcement from The Pokémon Company International has given us a tantalizing glimpse into what’s to come. Stellar Crown will feature:
- Over 170 cards.
- More than a dozen new Pokémon ex.
- Even more powerful ACE SPEC cards.
- Over 20 Trainer cards.
- More than 30 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations.
Stellar Crown is expected to draw heavily from the Japanese set Stellar Miracle, which showcased Stellar Form Terapagos and other Stellar-type Pokémon introduced in the Scarlet and Violet video games’ DLC.
Among the rarest and most sought-after cards in Stellar Crown will be the Special Illustration Rare versions of Hydrapple ex, Galvantula ex, Dachsbun ex, and Terapagos ex, as well as the Hyper Rare version of Terapagos ex.
Fans will also be thrilled to discover a host of Illustration Rare cards, with the beloved Squirtle and Bulbasaur likely to be among the most popular. These illustrations made their debut in the Japanese Special Deck Set ex late last year, and Stellar Crown will mark their first appearance in English. With Charmander from the same set already printed in English as a promo card in the Obsidian Flames Elite Trainer Box, collectors have eagerly awaited the chance to reunite these iconic starters in their binders.
