Whose Side Are You On?
Destined Rivals, Set 10 of the Pokémon TCG Scarlet & Violet series, will be released on Monday May 26th at The POP Shop (your Prerelease Headquarters) – and this is a doozy of a card lineup!
Thematically you are offered a choice to stand beside iconic trainers such as Cynthia (first seen in the Sinnoh region in the fourth generation), Ethan (from the mobile game Pokemon Masters EX), and Misty (who doubtless needs any further reference). They have some fantastic cards and any may even be your favorite character, but…
…we’re so used to being on the side of the “good guys” in these games, Let’s focus first on what this set will do to help us either denounce the evils of truth and love, or extend your reach to the stars above! Meowth, that’s right, you can choose to be on Team Rocket in Destined Rivals! Do you want to be trusted by Giovanni to command Mewtwo? Or work your way up the ladder by first impressing Ariana through shrewd use of a Basic Electric Type Pokemon such as Mareep?
This is your chance! We do not urge you to steal your opponents’ cards – Pikachus from other sets or Ethan’s Pichu from this one. However, we do urge you to pick them up some booster packs at The POP! Shop since we’ll be offering the full assortment of ways you can battle as a classic hero or take a dramatic twist as a villain of the local meta.
At The POP Shop, Destined Rival Booster Packs can be acquired individually (10 cards per pack), or collected by the sealed box (36 packs per box). If you are a more exacting trainer and are pursuing very specific cards for your team, don’t hesitate to trade with the staff and see what we offer in our showcase as well!
Packs have always been the tried-and-true method of building a collection, and this set is a big one! Gigantamaxing isn’t a mechanic in it, but the concept was applied to Destined Rivals since it has 182 regular cards which are brought up to 240 with secrets included!
There are other ways to find these secret Pokémon as well as alternative art cards such as Team Rocket’s Moltres which has a Regular, Ultra Rare, and Special Illustration Rare printing.
Additional ways to get boosters are an Elite Trainer Box which have nine boosters, sleeves, and an assortment of other items! Or if you don’t want the accessories and storage that offers, you can also find a Booster Bundle with six packs inside.
